Project Overview
Surcos Tours is a Costa Rica-based tour company. It specializes in guided nature tours across Costa Rica's top destinations, including Corcovado National Park, Puerto Jiménez, Golfito, and Coto Brus.
Goal
The primary goal of the SEO project was to increase Surcos Tours visibility in the U.S. market, improve keyword rankings, and drive more organic traffic to the website.
Solutions
In order to help Surcos Tours reach its desired results, we designed an SEO strategy for them, which included website technical optimization, content creation, and optimization as well as dedicated link-building campaigns.
Technical SEO Optimization
We started with the full technical audit to find and fix all of the problems that could affect the website’s performance. This included fixing broken links, improving page titles and descriptions, and making sure all important pages were indexed by search engine bots. We also optimized the website's speed and structure to enhance user experience and facilitate easier crawling by search engines.
Content Optimization
We performed keyword research and optimized key service pages with the selected target keywords, including “Corcovado National Park Tours”, “Puerto Jimenez Tours”, “Golfito Tours”, and “Coto Brus Tours”. In addition, we have optimized internal linking between relevant pages to strengthen topic clusters. Our strategy also included publishing blog content to strengthen topical relevance and increase organic visibility.
Link Building
We used a focused link-building strategy to get high-quality backlinks from niche-related websites. Most of the links came from travel blogs, which helped improve the website’s relevance in the tourism industry. As a result, we secured backlinks with an average domain rating (DR) of 52. These backlinks improved the website’s authority and helped improve rankings for targeted keywords.
Results
After working on this project for some time here are the results:
At the start, the website had 16 organic visitors per month. After implementing our SEO strategy, traffic grew to 97 monthly visitors, which is a 506% increase. This growth was driven by better keyword targeting, improved content, and strong backlink profile.
The number of keywords ranking in the top 10 positions increased from 3 to 10. This meant that more people searching for Costa Rica tours found Surcos Tours at the top of search results. The Corcovado National Park Tours page, in particular, gained an impressive boost in its online visibility, which led to more website visits and potential customers.
At the start of the campaign, Surcos Tours had a DR of 20. With the help of targeted link-building strategies, the DR increased to 22 during a short period of time.
